BEND, Ore. -- The mother of a 7-year-old girl who was shot and wounded but survived the Oct. 15 attack at Silver Rail Elementary School took to the family's GoFundMe fundraising page on Friday to thank everyone for their encouragement and support.
Saylor Graham-Poarch and teaching assistant Becky Drury were wounded in the attack by a 16-year-old gunman who killed three classmates ages 5-11 and teacher Megan Lambert before a pursuing parent shot and killed him.
Danielle Graham wrote, "Hi everyone, this is Saylor's mom, Danielle. I just wanted to reach out and say thank you for everyone who has donated or shared her story."
"This has been a nightmare not just for us but other families also," she wrote. "Saylor has been out ICU for a few days and is taking day by day. Thank you all for thinking about her and our family ❤️"
The posting was accompanied by a photo of Saylor holding a stuffed pony in her hospital bed.
