REDMOND, Ore. -- A damaged power line on the south end of Redmond knocked out service to more than 8,000 Pacific Power customers and Central Electric Cooperative members over a wide area for close to five hours Thursday night, officials said.

Pacific Power said crews had been notified after the first report at 9:14 p.m. They said it could take until 3:30 a.m. for crews to investigate, make repairs and restore power to the nearly 7,300 affected customers.

It also showed more than 90 customers lost power around the same time in southwest Redmond.

In a Facebook update posted around 3:30 a.m., Pacific Power said, "Power has been restored to all customers impacted as of 2:42am. Thank you for your patience and understanding while our crews worked to safely restore service."
