EUGENE, Ore. -- A Bend man was arrested Friday evening by Eugene police, who said he spent more than a year inappropriately communicating with a detective the man believed was a teen girl, then traveled to meet her.

Officers arrested 40-year-old Adrian Lopez, 40,  at 5:13 p.m. after police said he drove to Eugene to meet up with someone who he believed was under 16 years of age.

Police said Lopez had started communicating with the detective in August of 2025 and had the "teen" repeatedly send inappropriate photos — as many as 27 at one time — as well as asked to impregnate her and marry her. He made arrangements in August of this year to go camping with the teen, but backed out.

Lopez was booked into the Lane County Jail on charges of luring a minor and first-degree online sexual corruption of a child.

Lane County court records show Lopez was arraigned Monday on a Class B felony charge of first-degree online sexual corruption of a child and two counts of luring a minor, a Class C felony.

A public defender was appointed by Circuit Judge Bradley Cascagnette , who signed a pretrial release order, with two conditions marked - that he live at an approved address and have no contact with minors. A pre-trial conference is scheduled for Dec. 7.
